Cross Country: Germantown Academy Races at Salesianum Invitational

WILMINGTON -- Germantown Academy laced them up for the Varsity Girls B and Varsity Boys B race at the Salesianum Invitational hosted by Salesianum School and Brandywine Creek State Park. The girls team finished seventh out of 29 teams, while the boys took 13th out of 31 teams.

Both teams return to action on Oct. 3, with the girls hosting Springside Chestnut Hill and the boys welcoming Malvern Prep at 4pm. 

Girls Cross Country

Nieve Keitel '27 timed in at 20.58.20 to finish second overall and earn the top finish for the Patriots, who had five runners in the race and a team total of 225 points. Annabelle Steckel '28 was eighth (22:03.60), Abby Durkin '24 was 30th (23:41.70), Lauren Truong '26 was 83rd (27:01.80), and Taryn DiFranco '25 was 102nd (28:53.20) to round out the scoring.

Keitel was the top freshman to finish and just one of two to place in the top 10, while Steckel was one of two eighth graders competing and the only one to finish in the top 100 runners.

Boys Cross Country

Robert Mulroy '26 crossed first for the Patriots and 20th overall with a time of 18:57.30. Evan Badami '26 was 27th (19:28.60), Ethan Na '26 was 45th (19:57.10), and Arjun Sood '25 was 86th (21:12.60) to round out the scorers. 

Competing in the Boys JV A race was Liam Connelly '27, Oliver Pepper '26, Jack Breme '26, Stavi Sterious '26, Jack Dashine '27, Alex Foster '27, Anthony DiFranco '24, and Ezra Blades '27. GA finished 17th out of 28 teams.
